Whether it is for substance use, mental health, or both, the idea of having someone “evaluate you” can be a bit uncomfortable for anyone, especially if it has been ordered, or required. We can assure you that Stepping Stones provides a compassionate, welcoming environment and our therapists will work hard to find the right treatment option for you, or your loved one, beginning with our substance abuse evaluation. 

Substance Abuse and/or Co-occurring Evaluations 

Substance abuse or co-occurring evaluations can be complex because each individual is unique and has different experiences that contribute to their substance abuse. Stepping Stones offers committed professionals who will talk with you and assess your needs with a substance abuse evaluation that can effectively determine what treatment plan is best for you and your individual situation. 

Effective Substance Abuse Treatment 

During your substance abuse evaluation at Stepping Stones, we are truly dedicated to helping you be as comfortable as possible. This starts by creating a relaxing environment. As experienced clinicians, we understand every person is an individual, not one size fits all, and we are committed to meeting you where you are without judgment. We will walk you through the process, be open and upfront about the information we are gathering, and will discuss our final recommendations with you, once the evaluation is completed. 

Steps to Your Evaluation

1)      Recognize you need an evaluation, and/or have been ordered by courts or treatment facilities to obtain one.

2)      Understand insurance coverage – as some insurances will not cover evaluations. We do offer a self-pay discount available to be paid at the time of service.

3)      Make an appointment with Shannon or Keri and plan to be here for about 2 hours.

4)      Come in for your substance about evaluation.

5)      Plan on hearing back from us within a week or two with a completed evaluation. Evaluations will be submitted to whoever has ordered the evaluation. We will discuss recommendations with you as allowed by the payor or courts.
