Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that’s related to changes in seasons. SAD begins and ends around the same time every year. If you’re like most people with SAD, your symptoms start in the fall and continue in the winter months, taking away your energy and making you feel anxious, emotional, or depressed. Some ways to help cope with SAD include:

  • Committing to a sleep schedule

  • Turning off blue light on your phone and electronics after the sun goes down

  • Consuming more Vitamin D rich foods like mushrooms, salmon, and eggs

  • Going outside to get fresh air. Take slow, deep breaths in and out and allow yourself to be present in the moment.

We hope that these tips will help you with your emotional health and well-being, but if you’re interested in one-on-one help please call Stepping Stones at 402-488-6511 to start receiving the help and support you deserve. *We also offer Telehealth Counseling, learn more: steppingstoneslincoln.com/contact-us
