New Adult DBT Skills Group

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills or DBT helps individuals understand and accept extreme emotions and difficult feelings. Beginning in April 2024, Stephanie McNichols, LIMHP, LADC, PC, a licensed mental health therapist at Stepping Stones who is trained in DBT, will offer a skills group open to anyone in the community. Stephanie currently teaches two groups through Lancaster County Probation.

Requirements to participate in the DBT Skills Group include:

  • Have a current, active counselor in the community and sign an ROI for the counselor and Stephanie to communicate

  • Agree to Group rules including confidentiality in the group

  • Commit to attending 26 sessions, with only three misses allowed

  • Complete homework assignments as assigned

  • Actively participate in Group

To refer to the Group, send a referral with the name, insurance, diagnosis, client, and therapist contact information, as well as a brief reason for referral to smcnichols@lmep.com.

Stephanie will contact clients directly and screen them to see if they are a good fit for the Group. The counselor will then be notified of the outcome. The Group will be limited to 12 participants at one time but a waitlist will be kept and members added whenever there are openings.

For more information, contact Stephanie McNichols at smcnichols@lmep.com or call 402-327-6821.
